This Carabinier wears a mix of cold and hot weather uniform. His headdress is the parade helmet without ceremonial plume attached to the top. The jacket is the winter dark blue model with red distinctions on the collar, front opening, rear skirts and cuffs. On the collar ends are royal crown badges.

Attached to the jacket are red and white shoulder cords, and an aiguillette hanging around the left shoulder. This is similar to that worn by the French Gendarmerie, apart from the colour. It has white metal ends hanging to the front.
