When a new parade uniform was developed for the PIR it was based on the standard shirt and shorts of the Australian Army but in a colour known as juniper green.
This junior NCO wears a beret in the new colour with the unit badge attached to the left front.
His juniper green shirt has short sleeves onto which are stitched white tape rank chevrons. The coloured shoulder slides have been retained, with the unit title in brass attached.
Around the right shoulder is the unit’s red lanyard.
He also retains the unit waist belt and clasp.
Juniper green shorts are worn with black leather sandals.
He is armed with SMLE rifle and bayonet.
