In 2005/06 the PNGDF changed its general duty and parade uniform to the style shown.
The beret remains the dark green version with PNGDF badge fixed to the left front.
The light green shirt is the same style as the Australian Army’s ‘poly’ shirt. Fixed above the right chest pocket is the Force bird of paradise badge. An example is shown below.
On the shoulder straps are red slides with the new badges of rank embroidered in yellow.
Around the right shoulder is worn a red lanyard, ending in the right chest pocket.
The PIR black leather belt continues to be worn, with its brass clasp.
Dark green trousers are worn over black shoes.
On parade he carries a M16 rifle.
