The Netherlands is a country over few hills, easy to traverse on bike. Happy with the idea of fast deployment the Dutch Army embraced the use of bicycles for some of their troops, and in the 1930s mounted units, and their band, on motor cycles.

Headdress – Dutch steel helmet with lion badge attached to the front. Painted a dull field grey.

Jacket – A relatively plain black leather double breasted item, closed with five buttons down each side of the chest. The collar is fall pattern, and there are internal hip pockets closed with a plain flap.

Equipment – Standard Army waist belt with two individual ammunition pouches attached to the left of the buckle.

Legwear – Leather breeches tucked into brown leather gaiters, worn over ankle boots.

Weapon – 6.5mm Mannlicher M95 cavalry carbine
