The officers of the Army wore a standard mess dress that varied in its badges only. The pattern follows that of the British forces, mostly Army but with some Air Force taints such as the colour. The blue-grey is highlighted with black shoulder straps, lapels and cuff piping. The latter forms a gauntlet cuff with buttons.

Rank is shown on the shoulder straps, and the Corps badge is attached to the lapels approximately halfway down the chest.

The trousers have a thick black lace stripe down the outer edges.

In 1928 a modified service dress jacket was adopted for mess dress.
