This Paratrooper wears the combat uniform first issued to his Regiment in the 1980s. It is made from a camouflage pattern adopted by the Japanese Army.

An American pattern steel helmet is worn with camouflaged cover.

Both the jacket and trousers are a relatively standard pattern for the time, with the latter bloused over combat boots.

A 1937 pattern web belt is worn around the waist. In field conditions contemporary Indian webbing equipment is worn.

He is armed with a 7.62mm British/Indian version of the FN FAL rifle.

After the Special Forces had received this field uniform it was issued to the rest of the Army.

With additional embellishments, it has been used on parades.
