This medically trained soldier is a first aider of the Medical Services element of the Common Army. He wears the new hechtgrau uniform with red distinctions. On his right sleeve is the western symbol for a medical man, a red cross on a white armband.

To undertake his task he carries a large pouch hung on the front of his belt. Over the right shoulder he carries a haversack for personal and additional items, and over the left a standard army water bottle.

Medical orderlies were armed prior to the establishment of the Geneva conventions. This soldat carries a short sword for personal protection.
