This senior policeman wears the parade uniform of the Force. The old shako has been replaced by a colonial style helmet covered with white drill material, and has a multi-fold drill puggaree around the body.
His tunic is standard issue with white piping around the shoulder straps and at the top of the pointed cuffs. His rank is shown by the three inverted chevrons on each forearm.
White piping also decorates the outer seams of the trousers.
The SAP band was formed in 1884 and continues to provide music to internal and external events.
