The Corps wore the uniform of the Black Watch with white metal additions, the same as its affiliated battalion. The senior NCO at left wears parade uniform of Glengarry, doublet and kilt. On the right sleeve are the three chevrons of his rank and his equipment includes a cross belt with white metal fittings, also a symbol of rank. He carries a Martini Henry carbine.

The piper at right is unusual in that he wears the standard uniform of the Corps with only his belts and the full plaid to differentiate him from the other boys, and he also carried a full set of pipes.
